Firefly isn’t a series I discovered recently; in fact
I haven’t watched in about a year now probably. What it is however is a series
that sticks to your brain and gives you that annoying habit to compare it to
every other series you watch.
The plot goes something like this; we follow a group
whose leader was a sergeant that fought against the Alliance, a powerful
authoritarian government and law-enforcement organization that controls the
majority of territory within the known universe. The group earns its living by
smuggling goods to customers that most of the time aren’t really eager to pay
them.
Much trouble, adventure and interaction between
characters that have really obscure morals. What is the true fun about the
series for me are definitely the morals of the characters as they end up not
being your typical good guy’s characters. You end up getting really involved
with the decisions of the character and being at the edge of your seat most of
the time. The environment is again one of the most interesting aspects of the
series. We are in an era that there are spaceships and quite advanced
technology but the majority of the civilization seems to have –at least culturally-
stayed back at the Wild West era. It’s a really interesting approach on the
sci-fi genre that I’ve never though could be that successful. I feel however
that if I talk more about it, I could spoil it for you so I’ll just urge you to
watch it.
